The Neshaminy Valley Baptist Church support many missionaries. We support the missionary program under the guidance of the North American Conference through contributions to the NAB conference. Along with the support of the NAB Mission Program we also directly provide support missionaries through direct contributions. The following is information about the missionaries we directly support.

Paul & Melissa Ewing (Japan)

The Ewings have been serving in Japan as church planters since 1999.

Kongo Bible Church
We have had a great two months serving at the Kongo Church.  We had a great turn out for the Christmas Event, with 82 people in attendance.  Paul did a great job presenting the Christmas story along with explaining what the idea of salvation in Jesus means.  My friends have told me that they appreciated Paul’s careful use of words and grammar, making it very easy to listen and understand his talk.  Shan’s gospel choir was wonderful and as certain members spoke between numbers it was very clear that the Spirit was moving and creating a unity with what Paul was speaking on and what they were singing about.  God was the designer.  We have also been encouraged by the weekly Bible studies in English and Japanese.  Several weeks have gone into “overtime” with much in depth discussion.  Shindo San, who joined the English Bible study as another chance to study English, is getting closer and closer to making a decision for believing in Jesus.  It has been a blessing among all the challenges, especially to help someone hear the Spirit and get closer to Him.

Sakai- Shi church plant
Shan, Paul and I continue to meet weekly to discuss and dream about the church plant.  We are thinking of renting a facility in September and beginning our outreach to the neighborhood then.  Please be in prayer as we dream about this outreach and how God wants us to go about it.

Cultural interests
We were so excited to receive the news of our Japanese friend who won a national art contest in Kobe this January.  Akitomo San is a wonderful artist who uses his gift from God to witness to others through his art work.  His painting is absolutely stunning and expresses the freedom and joy we have in Jesus.

Departures and Arrivals
Among Paul’s busy schedule he is also planning his trip to Israel.  I am trying not to be too jealous of him.  He is looking forward to learning more about the Global Youth Initiative and hopes to bring workable ideas back to Japan and introduce the conference to a Japanese pastor.  For the church to continue to grow and survive we need to minister to the youth of the world.  While he is away we are thankful that my mom, Linda, can come and spend some time with the kids and me along with celebrating Easter with us.

Easter
Be in prayer with us as we listen to the Spirit on how to make Easter more real to the Japanese.  We hope to host a couple events at our house, but at this time we are not sure as to what that will look like.  Please pray for us to have a discerning heart to hear Jesus.

Praise God...

  • For Takao San (our Japanese teacher) and her husband who have adopted our kids as grandkids and help us out from time to time.
  • For Mori San.  Her son is in Noah’s class and plays soccer.  She is so sweet and is willing to be friends and is not afraid to have a conversation with me, even when it is difficult at times.

Please pray...

  • That we will be the light that Jesus wants us to be.  As all of you know, there are good days and bad days and we pray that our lives will always shine for Jesus and we can give God the glory for the things that He has enabled us to do.

Dave & Sue Dow (Race Track Chaplaincy of America)
email - CPRTACA@pa.net

Across the country there are over three million people involved in the horse racing industy. More than 250,000 of those individuals are living on what is calles the 'backstretch' of the racetrack. Often, many of theses racetrack dwellers have no religios community or leader to turn to in time of crisis.

Organized in 1971, the Racce Ttrack Chaplaincy of America (RTCA) was formed to reach these presious men, women and children with the hope that God offers through Jesus Christ. The RTCA seeks to meet with excellence, the spiritual, emotional, physical, social, and educational need of horse racing's work force.

The RTCA sanctions and oversees 58 chaplains who serve at over 100 tracks and training centers throughout the U.S. and Canada. Chaplains hold church services, Bible studies, perform marriages, memorial services, council troubled workers and visit sick and injured workers in hospitals. They provide food, blankets, bedding and emergency funds to track workers. They also provide a wealth of social services to backstretch workers that include hosting AA meetings, ESL and computer learning classes. They advocate for workers to the INS, IRS, SS, DMV and the criminal and civil court systems. They also act as a liaison between community and racing related helping organization and authorities, including track stewards, track executives and horsemen’s associations.

I am humbled and honored to be among the 58 RTCA chaplians who serve in 51 seperate chaplaincy divisions in the US and Canada. I encourage you to learn more about this unique ministry and to prayfully consider how you can make a difference through partnership with the RTCA.

 In His Service,
Chaplain Dave Dow

Mahesh & Anusha DeMel (Sri Lanka)

National Christian Evangelical Alliance of Sri Lanka (NCEASL) National Missions Coordinator

I was born into a Catholic/Buddest background. I am the eldest of three brothers. My father dies when I was 11 years and I was raided up in a Christian orphanage. That was my first experience to Christianity and it is there that I learnt the basics of Christianity. I came to know the Lord when I was 18 and joined the full time ministry two years later as a rural church planter. Since then, I have served the Lord as a church planter in many places throughout Sri Lanka over the past 15 years.

Anusha and I got married in 1993. She assists me inour ministry and has also developed a ministry of her own reaching out to the women who migrate to the cities and work in the "Free Trtade Zone" in Katunayake (Colombo). With the assistance of another girl, they minister among these girls who are often lonely and exploited.

One of my early joys has been to lead the first national survey and research done by the NCEASL (1997) to learn about the status of the church in Sri Lanka. Through this, God led me to join the NCEASL in 2000 as their Nation Mission Coordinator.

Our passion as a family is to reach the unreached through evangelism and discipleship and to assist the national church to fulfill the Great Commandment through mobilizing and equipping the saints. My position in NCEASL helps me to accomplish that goal. We are also involved in personal evangelism as well as empowering the women in the churches through networking - especially with the ministry in the 'free trade zone" area.

Mahesh & Anusha's missionary work is to establish new churches in the country of Sri Lanka. They run a school through NCEASL that trains pastors and church planters to go out and establish new churches in the name of Jesus Christ. In 2006, they have trained over 48 church planters and their wives to serve in Sri Lanka. The school holds seminars and workshops to help people understand what it takes to start a new Christian church and develop the tools they need.

Tim & Jacki Faulkner (Italy)

Ministry-at-a-Glance
Primary Ministry Focus
Partnering with Italian church leaders in church planting
The People The Catholic church continues to be central to the identity and spiritual security of most Italians. Different worldviews tend to be greeted with skepticism. Those who experience new birth in Christ identify with the fact that many of their countrymen do not know Christ personally.

Major Challenges Developing trust with pastors who have seen many missionaries and programs come and go with little success; transferring local church leadership to godly, capable Italian leaders; providing theological training for Italian men who work and minister full time.

Prayer Focus Pray that God would allow us to be effective partners with Italian church leaders, training them well and then involving them from the beginning in planting and developing new churches.

Becky Mills (Campus Crusade For Christ)

Email - Becky.Mills@uscm.org

Romans 10:14 "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

My Vision

To see lost students across the country and around the world reached with the message of Jesus Christ. To see them be discipled, trained, and mobilized to effectively and relvantly reach their campus communities and the world in order to hel fulfill the Great Commission.

My Mission

What if a new believer or seeker walked into a high energy conference with hundreds of other college students, where a rock band was leading worship, energetic speakers revealed the truth of God's Word and after meetings they got to hang out with others from their school. They would be able to see them as real people with whom they really fit in with. I imagine their life would be changed forever.

My Commitment

  • To work diligently to touch the lives of people for Jesus
  • To regularly let you know how God is blessing my minisitry
  • To share prayer concerns with one another.
How I will Serve

I will serve the Lord at the Campus Ministry Office in the National Headquarters in Orlando, FL. The Campus Ministry headquarters provides strategy, vision, training and opportunity for both students and staff on college campuses all around the country.

I will specifically be serving with the Conference and Events planning team. I will have the opportunity to plan and execute conferences around the country where both students and staff will come to learn and grow in their walks with the Lord, be challenged to take steps of faith, and be given the opportunity to go out and share their faith to the world around them.
