A Church that Practices the Presence of God
We see NVBC as...
A Place where Disciples are Grown:
NVBC will fulfill the Great Commandment by building disciples (Matt
28:19). After a person comes to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and
Savior we will intentionally grow all Christians in their knowledge of
God’s Word reflecting Jesus in their passionate lifestyle for Him.
Examples of this would be Sunday School programs designed to teach
accurately the Word of God, worship services that focus on God,
children ministries where children can learn and grow with the Word of
God, teenage programs that meet the needs of the critical stages of
teen age growth, and similar opportunities for Seniors and other age
groups within the congregation. The goal of building disciples is to
develop leaders to advance the Kingdom of God (2 Tim 3:16-18).
An integral part of the community:
NVBC will be involved in programs, events, and issues that affect the
quality of life to families that live in and around Bensalem Township.
NVBC will strive to be a good neighbor by actively looking for needs
that face the residents and work to find ways to meet those needs.
Examples of this would be but not limited to: involvement in Township
Pride Days or days of township wide celebrations; make our facilities
and people available for use by local government officials (police,
emergency management, schools, etc) community wide CPR training, grief
counseling, helping people deal with crimes against them (Rape, spousal
abuse, etc) and involvement in township schools. As long as our convictions our not compromised, we will look for every
opportunity to raise awareness of the presence of the church by making
our church available for use by the community.
Attracting non-Christians:
NVBC’s ministry focus will be on following the command of Jesus to
bring the Good News of Salvation to the community and people looking
for meaning for their lives (Rom 15:20). NVBC will strive to do this
with evangelistic programs designed for all ages. Examples of this
would be but not limited to: Door-to-Door evangelism, personal
one-on-one evangelism, programs that would give NVBC an opportunity to
get to know the people of the community (Harvest festivals, etc),
lifestyle evangelism, and age appropriate programs where people can
come and get to know one another in a non threatening environment.
NVBC will have evangelistic ministries that are relevant to the
culture of the people who live in Bensalem and the surrounding
communities. Examples of doing this is to have a Worship Service
relevant to the people we are striving to attract ( I Corinthians
9:21-23), ministries for single parents, ministries for young adults
and ministries for couples starting a new family etc.
NVBC will be known as a place where everyone will be accepted regardless of background and race.
A birthing place for missionaries and other churches:
NVBC will have a strong mission program that supports missionaries
throughout the world and in our country. NVBC will actively increase
our mission focus by expanding the level of support each year. Examples
of this would be: supporting the NAB Conference and their mission
endeavors, support other missionaries, support local mission, support
short term mission endeavors and people who have a heart to serve in
the mission field, and give of our time and people resources to work in
the mission field. NVBC will also encourage and support people who have
a desire to enter the mission field.
NVBC will have a plan to start new churches in communities where we can make a difference in people’s lives.
A place of love, healing, and fellowship:
NVBC will fill the needs of people who have lost hope, are hurting and
need a place of comfort. NVBC will be a place where people can come to
laugh, cry, be wanted, loved and cared for. NVBC will be known as a
place where people can find refuge from the struggles of life
regardless of who they are or what problems they presently have in
their life.
